Limited Edition Papua New Guinea Korofeigu
$22.95
A savory, juicy single origin from the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, with caramel, citrus, and cranberry. Organically certified, roasted in Jackson.
Coffee has been grown in the Bena Bena Valley of Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands since the mid-1940s, when teenage villagers from Korofeigu were trained in its cultivation by post-war agricultural administrators. Today, coffee is PNG's most important agricultural crop, and this particular lot comes from the 97-member Korofeigu Farmer's Cooperative Society, farming 112 hectares of mountainous, shade-grown land with loamy soil in the valley between Goroka and Henganofi.
In the cup: caramel and citrus up front, with cranberry brightness and a savory, tropical depth that makes it more layered than it first appears. Juicy and clean through the finish.
This is an organically certified coffee, part of an ongoing initiative by our supplier New Guinea Highlands Coffee Exports, who have been trading with farmers in this area since the 1960s. Roasted in Jackson, Mississippi, at our own roastery.
